Take Off Seed Treatment

Take Off Seed Treatment originated with Plant Syence Ltd and after 8 years of detailed research was launched into the UK market. It has rapidly gained a good reputation and is now in development across a wide range of crops - these include cereals, oilseeds, maize, potatoes, sugar beet, linseed, pulses, grass seed and several vegetable crops.

It marks a significant landmark for the company to originate, develop and successfully market a technology to the European agricultural market. It is being developed now in Belgium, Czech, Eire, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Russia and the Ukraine along with a partner company in the USA.

Take Off Seed Treatment contains the formulated patented plant metabolite pyro-glutamic acid with an advanced nutrient complex providing the latest innovation in seed treatments to maximise nutrient efficiency in the soil.

Where should I target Take Off Seed Treatment?

By improving establishment, root and shoot mass Take Off ST will increase yield potential. Yield increases from 0.15 - 1.1 t/ha have been recorded with an average of 0.325 t/ha. Therefore it is applicable across most situations. Reduced benefits may be seen with very early drilled crops.

What might I see by increasing the speed of emergence?

Take Off ST will speed up emergence of the crop, typically 1-3 days, the crop will establish quicker reducing the impact of stress - and another advantage is that the crop will be at risk from slug damage for less time.

If I have a bigger root mass can I reduce P & K fertiliser applications?

Take Off ST will deliver a very small but targeted amount of Phosphorus per hectare. It is designed to provide sufficient nutrients for the first 3 weeks of crop life. Standard applications should replace the nutrients being removed by the crop and where indices are low, build them up. Therefore Take Off ST will increase availability of nutrients and water to the crop but should not be used to reduce fertiliser applications.

As I will get a bigger root mass, canI drill my 2nd wheats earlier?

Drilling earlier means increased Take-All risk although biggerroots mean the crop will be more tolerant to the impact of disease infection. We suggest you do not alter the target drilling date when using Take Off ST seed treatment. Where there is risk of Take-All a specialist seed treatment should be used incombination with Take Off ST to protect this bigger root massfrom Take-All.

If I use Take Off ST, will there stillbe a benefit if I apply NutriPhite PGA?

Yes, trials have shown that there is a consistent yield benefit in applying sequences of Take Off ST followed by foliar Nutri-Phite PGA – it contains larger quantities of phosphorous than Take Off, Nutri-Phite PGA is better matched to crop need at specific crop development stages.
